HUGE issue with Crafting Level requirement.

Something doesn't seem right? Found a bug? post it here and I'll try and resolve it asap.

HUGE issue with Crafting Level requirement.

Not sure if this a bug or by design, but eitherway it's a BIG problem.

I was just trying to make an item for one of the members of my guild who is level 11. I have just noticed that all the items in crafting list are min level requirement 21 (probably due to the crafting skill of 30).

The problem with that is, as people get better, they are going to be unable to construct items for lower levels characters.

I had my poor member grind for the materials, and specifically told him to choose the lowest level materials to keep the level low, but when the starting item is already at 21, then there was little point in him doing that.

Materials should determine the lvl requirement, not the crafting skill lvl =)

A short/long/recurve/whatever available in the shop bow only has a few materials, therefore only limited bonuses, so no uzi bows for low lvl characters =)

I understand WHY it's done (higher craft = higher damage/defense) but it makes the crafting system un-viable to make lower level items as you get better.

Allow the crafter to choose a quality (very poor, poor, mediocre, etc.) which coincides with req lvl. Problem solved. =)

An alternative way (and maybe more 'realistic') is to allow the items use by lower levels, but put a negative modifier on it.

e.g. I can play the worlds best guitar ... doesn't mean I'll make it sound as good as it should :P

Yeah the famous "recommended level" instead of the required level. But for simplicity sake I'll go for the the select making level ...

Damn, I was hoping that wouldn't be the 'simplest' one ...

With the second option, at least the weapon would 'grow' with the character, with the first one, you're left having to re-make the item again each time the person levels a bit :(
